Dr. Lash Banks - Director of Missions

Dr. Lash Banks grew up in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.  He began serving as the Director of Missions for the Grayson Baptist Association in March of 2006.  Prior to this, Lash, served as the Senior Pastor of Milwood Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.  As Director of the Association, Lash ministers to the pastors and staff members of the 65 association churches.  He also preaches in churches throughout the association encouraging congregations to have a kingdom mind-set working together to purposefully start new congregations, strengthen existing churches, and press forward in faith toward the exciting future God has planned.  Lash received his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Mid-America Seminary. He met his wife, Stacey, in 1995 and they were married in August of 1997.  When he’s not serving churches, Lash enjoys dating Stacey, playing and keeping up with sports, writing, working in the yard, and relaxing with his Labrador Retrievers, Addie and Vincent.

Shirley has served as secretary of Grayson Baptist Association since February, 1984. She is married to Delbert who is minister of music at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison.  He has served in that capacity since March, 1980.  They have 2 married sons.  Toby, Joy, Beau and Vandi live in Searcy, Arkansas.  Troy, Amy, Dodger and LiLi live in Brentwood, Tennessee.

She enjoys serving the Lord through serving the 66 churches of Grayson Baptist Association and supporting the work of her husband at Parkside.
 

Bernie has served as Director of the Baptist Student Ministry since October 1981.  Bernie and his wife, Nita, reside in Sherman and are members of the North Park Baptist Church.  Nita is employed by the Sherman Independent School District as an elementary music teacher for Perrin and Jefferson Schools.  They have two grown sons.  John and his wife, Cassie live in Garland. Their second son, Daniel, lives in Greenville. 

In addition to his responsibilities as BSM Director, Bernie also teaches credit Bible courses at Grayson County College and has served several churches in Grayson Baptist Association as interim pastor and/or music minister.

Brad McClenny and wife Mattie have been working with the International Students at Grayson County College since January 2002.  He recently completed his education at SWBTS with an Advanced Diploma in Theology. They live and work on the GCC Campus. They have two grown children. Their son Chris and wife Tory live in DeWitt, AR. He coaches football in Dumas, AR. Emily is a manager for Holiday Inn Select in Little Rock, AR.  Brad currently supplies the pulpit for various churches in Grayson County when needed. He also helps with Fellowship of Christian Students at GCC, Third Thursday Thing to provide an open door to the BSM for all students on campus, and works in various other ministry related areas to reach as many people as possible through service minded ministries. He has worked at various churches and missions for the past 12 years with youth before moving up to work with college age students.

Debra has served as Baptist Student Ministry Secretary/Hostess since August 1998.  Debra and her husband Randy reside in Sherman and are members of Forest Ave. Baptist Church where she teaches a preschool Sunday School class and he serves as a deacon.  Randy works for Texas Instruments.  They have three married children: Malissa and Brad, Jordan and Christel,  Jared and Brandy all living in Sherman.  Their youngest daughter, Rebecca, attends Howard Payne University in Brownwood.

Debra enjoys reading and needlework, but her favorite pastime is just being "MOM" both at home and and work.  Her greatest joy is being "Grammy" to her grandchildren Marissa, Haley, Rylan and Austin.
