MEMBERSHIP
Joining the GBA
as a Local Church
We’re excited that you are exploring what it means for your church to join the Grayson Baptist Association. Membership is a shared commitment to partner together in Gospel work, support one another in ministry, and strengthen the mission of Christ in Grayson County and beyond.
Requirements for Membership
#1. Like Minded Faith & Practice
Each church seeking affiliation with the GBA must hold core beliefs that align with, or at least do not contradict—the convictions of the Baptist Faith and Message. Churches in harmony with these convictions may join the Association in one of two ways:
-
Member Churches – SBC-affiliated congregations that fully unite with the GBA in cooperative ministry.
-
Partner Churches – Like-minded congregations that share in the mission of the GBA without full SBC affiliation.
👉 A designated representative from your church should complete the Membership Application linked below.
#2. Financial Contribution
All Member and Partner churches commit to giving regularly toward the mission of the GBA. Your church’s investment fuels joint missions, leadership development, church support, new church planting, and strategic Gospel efforts across Grayson County.
A Financial Contribution Application is required to complete the process of joining the GBA.
👉 You can set up your contribution here.
#3. Watch Care
New Member Churches enter a brief period of Watch Care as outlined in our bylaws. During this time, your church participates fully in the life and ministry of the Association while awaiting formal affirmation of membership.
As part of this process, a sponsoring church from within the GBA must come alongside the applying church. The sponsoring church affirms its doctrinal alignment, provides accountability, and walks with the new church through the Watch Care period.
(Note: Partner Churches do not go through the Watch Care process.)
